Introduction - objective : Modal arterial vascularization of liver is provided by hepatic artery itself arising from the celiac trunk. Knowledge of anatomical variants is important in interventionnal or surgical planning.
Methodology: We conducted a cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical study of 675 abdominal CT angiograms over a period of two years in the radiology department of a public university hospital center. Hepatic artery variants were classified according to the Michels method.
Results : 675 CT were analyzed. Modal anatomy was observed in 422 patients or 64.6%. Anatomical variants in 197 patients or 32.0% and 36 patients or 5.4% were not classified.
Conclusion : Modal anatomy is predominant in Ivorian populations. However, the anatomical variants maintain a significant proportion and in certain cases the anatomy does not correspond to the Michels classification. All these aspects must be specified in the scan reports to avoid complications.
